⚙️ Under the Hood
A simple four-step process runs automatically every time you visit a supported video page.

1 — Detects Supported Players
Waits for the video element and control bar to load on any of the 12 supported platforms, then injects its own controls without disrupting the native UI.
|
2 — Attaches Controls
On YouTube, inserts skip and loop buttons into the left controls and screenshot/speed controls into the right controls. On other platforms, a floating overlay is used.
|
|
3 — Listens for Button Clicks
Speed buttons set video.playbackRate. Skip buttons adjust video.currentTime. Loop sets video.loop. Screenshot calls drawImage on a canvas to capture the frame cleanly.

4 — Updates Stats, Badge & Action Bar
When you skip, a message is sent to the background script. Minutes skipped are accumulated, the badge and popup stats are updated, and the action bar reflects the last action in real time.

📦 How to Install
Choose the installation method that works best for you.
From Chrome Web Store
1Open the Chrome Web Store page for Video Speed Control.
2Click Add to Chrome.
3Confirm by clicking Add extension.
4Icon appears in toolbar. Visit any supported video site and controls appear automatically.

Manual (Developer Mode)
2Extract the ZIP to a folder.
3Go to chrome://extensions/.
4Enable Developer mode.
5Click Load unpacked and select the folder.
6Extension loads and starts working immediately on all supported video sites.
