Ruler King does not collect, store,
transmit or share any personal data,
usage data, browsing data or any other
information from you or your device.

• No personal data collected
• No usage analytics
• No crash reporting
• No telemetry of any kind

2. What permissions are used and why

• storage — Saves your
  settings locally on your device only.
  Unit, theme, opacity and preferences.
  Nothing is sent externally.
• tabs — Queries the
  active tab to inject the ruler overlay
  and check the page URL to block
  restricted pages.
• activeTab — Required
  by captureVisibleTab() for the
  screenshot feature. Only fires on
  explicit user action.
• scripting — Injects
  the ruler CSS and JS into the active
  page to display the overlay tools.
• contextMenus — Builds
  the right-click context menu with all
  measurement actions.
• clipboardWrite — Used
  only when you explicitly click Copy on
  a screenshot or measurement result.
  Never accessed automatically.

3. Local storage — what is stored

The only data stored by Ruler King is
your personal settings, saved locally
on your device using chrome.storage.local.
This includes:

• Preferred unit (px, rem, em, vw, vh)
• Colour theme preference
• Ruler size and opacity
• Toggle states (guides, crosshair etc)
• Ruler enabled/disabled state

This data never leaves your device and
is never transmitted to any server.

4. No third-party sharing

Ruler King does not share any data with
any third party. There are no advertising
networks, analytics providers, data
brokers or any other third-party services
integrated into this extension.

5. No analytics or tracking

Ruler King contains no analytics code,
no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting
and no usage monitoring of any kind.
We do not know how many times you use
the extension, which features you use
or which websites you visit.

6. Screenshot data

When you use the Screenshot Area feature,
the captured image is processed entirely
within your browser. It is displayed in
a preview panel and either downloaded
directly to your device or copied to
your clipboard. No screenshot data is
ever transmitted to any server.

7. Clipboard access

Ruler King only writes to your clipboard
when you explicitly click a Copy button
— for screenshots or measurement values.
The extension never reads from your
clipboard and never accesses it
automatically.

8. Children’s privacy

Ruler King does not collect any data
from any user, including children under
the age of 13. The extension is a
professional design tool intended for
web designers and developers.

9. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this privacy policy
we will update the date at the top of
this page and post a notice in the
extension changelog. Given that we
collect no data, material changes are
unlikely.
